Cully's Sorry

Faster than you can say "public outcry," Herr Stimson has apologized for his critical remarks the other day about attorneys who are representing the Guantanamo detainees. Now he's saying that his statements do not reflect his "core beliefs," and he actually believes "firmly" that a "foundational principle of our legal system is that the system works best when both sides are represented by competent legal counsel.” Hmmm, could have fooled me. Sounds like someone got reprimanded for saying stupid things. I've been there, Cully. Let's let bygones be bygones, and we'll pretend you didn't really mean what you said the other day, when you thought no one would care and the Pentagon would have your back.
