I'd give the edge to Obama on nuance and judgment but for some reason, expectations were low for McCain, so most people will probably say he won or it was even. Obama needs to hit back a little more forcefully the next time. That said, I think having them side by side and Obama holding his own favors Obama. Foreign policy was not his strong point and I can't say that McCain was head and shoulders above Obama on these issues. Obama has too much knowledge to get cratered on the subject.
I'm really curious about how this played with Independents. Guess we'll see.
