What I Did On My Labor Day Weekend
Dear Teacher,
Here is what I did on my Labor Day Weekend:
1. Vacuumed my apartment.
2. Belted out the lyrics to The City Of New Orleans by Arlo Guthrie.
3. Took a bleary-eyed, mid-afternoon subway ride home with a big smile on my face.
4. Ate two toasted cinnamon bagels with cream cheese at my old haunt, Pick-A-Bagel on the UES.
5. Rode my bike to Taco Chulo for a huevos rancheros, followed by another ride to the Roebling Tea Room for some Kronenberg.
6. Got nowhere on a short story.
7. Met someone vewwy interesting.
8. Loaded my U.S. Open pictures on Flickr, Myface, and Spacebook.
9. Downloaded Arlo Guthrie (the aforementioned The City of New Orleans) and Rihanna (Shut Up and Drive) in the same sentence.
10. Swept broken glass off the floor from a picture that fell off my wall.
11. Got a pedicure (sans nail polish wise asses, and no, it doesn't make me gay).
12. Watched highlights of Clay Buchholz's no-hitter 50 times.
13. Belted out the lyrics to Take It On The Run by REO Speedwagon. (Been doin' a lot of singin' lately).
14. Slept like a baby.

gross. you're one of the creepy old men in the salon getting pedicures. i hate that.
(btw - your usopen pics are great!)
Creepy? Old? Et tu, Brute? Seriously, you must be joking. Given some of the female bruisers I've seen in those places, I'm comparatively low on the creep scale. Take a good look around the next time you're in there.
Number 3. "Took a bleary-eyed, mid-afternoon subway ride home with a big smile on my face." Listen, we're not dumb. We can read between the lines, you know. :-)
Read? What lines? Ssssh.
